Wearable objects
I create wearable objects from the meeting between architectural thinking and Greenlandic heritage. The first edition is about avittat.
Avittat is the geometric sealskin embroidery of the West Greenlandic women’s national costume the kalaallisuut. I see avittat as visual language of rhythm, repetition and proportion carrying traces of Greenlandic life, identity and landscape. I isolate the motifs and translate them into objects you can wear.
The visual language of this brand mixes AI-generated imagery, phone photography and hand drawing. It is dynamic and playful by design.
Atsa Rosas avittat
The avittat on my mother’s kalaallisuut was made by her aunt, Atsa Rosa more than a century ago in Nuuk, Greenland. It is precise, geometric sealskin embroidery — built from tiny strips of coloured skin.
