Object 1.1 Siku

A handwoven cuff composed of 2,800 Japanese glass beads.
This is a lighter variant of Object 1 Nuna, in white, beige, silver and yellow — a palette that refers to ice, siku. Both carry the same mountain motif, identified in my mother’s kalaallisuut, her Greenlandic national dress, in the avittat sealskin embroidery made by my mother’s aunt, Atsa Rosa, more than 100 years ago.
